March 5 2012 09:00

The American Research Center in Sofia (www.arcsofia.org), in cooperation with the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (www.bcnl.org), is pleased to announce a grant writing and project development workshop for faculty and PhDs in the Humanities and Social Sciences on Monday, March 5 from 9.00 to 18.00 (registration begins at 8.30) at the American Research Center in Sofia, 75 Vasil Petleshkov St. The workshop will be in Bulgarian language.
The goals of the workshop are: 1. to give participants a broader understanding of the steps and mechanisms for the preparation of project proposals; and 2. to share experience and to gather common knowledge about project planning and preparation. Special emphasis will fall on the identification of project ideas, strengths, constraints, needs, expected impact, outputs and results; and on the development of a coherent project strategy (methodology, overall timeframe, initial budget, activities, means, resource, potential sources for funding).
There is no charge for the event. Lunch and two coffee breaks will be provided.
The workshop will be limited to twenty-five participants. Prospective participants must reserve a position in the workshop by calling 02/947 9498 or emailing apo@arcsofia.org by Friday, March 2. Academic faculty and PhDs in the Humanities and Social Sciences who are considering developing a project are eligible to participate in the workshop.
The workshop leader will be Plamen Todorov, an expert with more than ten years of experience in preparation, administration, and co-ordination of European and US funded projects. He has previously led workshops organized by UNICEF - Bulgraria, PHARE Executive Agency in Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, and the Programme and Analytical Centre for European Law Foundation (PACEL), among others.
