Happy Holidays from the ARCS Foundation
As 2015 comes to an end, we celebrate the accomplishments of another year of the American Research Center in Sofia Foundation (ARCS), the year in which we celebrated the Foundation's 10th Anniversary. We achieved so much over the past ten years, and the commitment from our friends and supporters continues to contribute to our success!
On April 24, 2015, our Foundation held a grand celebration of its 10th Anniversary at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia with a lecture by the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Dr. Philip Dimitrov. Congratulatory addresses were given by leading members of the national and local governments: the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, whose address was conveyed by Dr. Martin Ivanov, Secretary of Culture, Education, and National Identity for the President; Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Mrs. Rumyana Bachvarova (under whose patronage the event was held); Dr. Todor Chobanov, Deputy Mayor of Sofia; H.E. Stefan Tafrov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to the United Nations; Dr. Andrey Kovachev, Member of the EU Parliament and Trustee of ARCS; and Mr. Miroslav Borschosch, Director of the National Palace of Culture (for a brief summary of the event and for more information on the president’s address, see more here. They all commended the vital role the Center is playing in the cultural and intellectual life of the city, the region, and the nation, and they urged us to continue our great work.
Please consider making a donation to the American Research Center in Sofia Foundation this holiday season! Our academic program, archaeological field school, conferences, publications, virtual museum of the Bulgarians in North America, and other endeavors which strengthen the ties between the United States and Bulgaria, all depend on philanthropy. Your gifts to our annual fund will ensure the sustainability of our programs and activities. If you would like to read more about the Center's recent achievements, including our new publications, please see the report available here.
In order to make a contribution, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would be happy to provide you with a mailing address for sending a check, or you can make a donation online at the bottom of the page. All donations are tax-exempt in the United States according to IRS Code 501(c)(3). Any contribution, no matter how modest, will be most greatly appreciated.
