The project aims at developing a systematic solution that will help modernize the overall state policy of Bulgaria for protection and management of Bulgarian national cultural heritage. The project is a form of public-private partnership (state museum- NGO) which goal is the digitalization of Bulgarian museums’ collections. This is intended to help solve one of the major problems with Bulgarian cultural heritage – its protection against organized crime. The final result will be a unified and adequate digitalization process of the museum collections in Bulgaria, as an obligatory step towards effective protection of Bulgarian cultural heritage and its popularization. The project focuses on the SPCME program component of museum collections enhancement and at the same time provides long-term solutions for state cultural heritage protection. It also has strong community outreach and educational and innovative components.
